DAY 23 of 40 DAY SADHANA
Mantra for Victory - Patala Patal

FULL MANTRA
_______________
Pāṯālā pāṯāl lakẖ āgāsā āgās.
There are nether worlds beneath nether worlds, and hundreds of thousands of heavenly worlds above.
Oṛak oṛak bẖāl thake veḏ kahan ik vāṯ.
The Vedas say that you can search and search for them all, until you grow weary.
Sahas aṯẖārah kahan kaṯebā asulū ik ḏẖāṯ.
The scriptures say that there are 18,000 worlds, but in reality, there is only One Universe.
Lekẖā hoe ṯa likīai lekẖai hoe viṇās.
If you try to write an account of this, you will surely finish yourself before you finish writing it.
Nānak vadā ākẖīai āpe jāṇai āp.
O Nanak, call Him Great! He Himself knows Himself.

“My Last wish is that both my hands be kept swinging out of the coffin, because I want people to know that I came empty handed and empty handed I go out of the world.” These words of Alexander the Great, at his death-bed after conquering many kingdoms at the age of 32 years remind us how meaningless are all the worldly victories, kingdoms, power and wealth.
Victory means triumph or winning over the enemies. In the world, we see that one person’s victory is another person’s defeat. But as the wheel of time turns, a victory turns out to be defeat in some other circumstances.
So, the need is to have knowledge and understanding that we human beings are part of the whole plan of Universe. We should not try to grab power, wealth out of ego and greed because in the Zig-zag path of life, there’ll be ups and downs, victories and defeats, sorrows and happiness – these all go hand in hand. The true victory is to triumph over enemies like ego, greed, lust, anger and possessiveness and imbibe virtues like love for mankind, sharing our belongings, kindness, patience and contentment. If we understand this, there will be no wars, no battles to be won (for peace) and the world will be at peace.
