Lipstick Under My Burkha Trailer Review By Farishtey Faroodi | Ratna Pathak, Konkona Sen

Controversial film ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ caused an uproar when the Censor Board refused to grant it a certificate for allegedly showing ‘women in a bad light’ however, now that the Film Certification Tribunal (FCAT) has cleared it, the makers have released a trailer of the film days after they released the poster.

Produced by Prakash Jha and now backed by Balaji Queen Bee Ekta Kapoor, the film’s trailer, which was released today, is sure to raise quite a few eyebrows. Starring Konkona Sen Sharma, Ratna Pathak, Aahana Kumra and Plabita Borthakur in lead roles along with Sushant Singh, Vikrant Massey, Shashank Arora, Vaibhav Tatwawaadi and Jagat Singh Solanki, follows four small town Indian women between the ages of 18-55 -a burkha clad college girl, a young beautician, a mother of three and an aging widow, who decide to assert their personal and sexual rights.

‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’, which has won awards and accolades at several international film festivals, is slated to release on July 21.
