Christie’s International Head of Retail for Watches, Reginald Brack, gives an in-depth look at a Rolex GMT-Master, Ref. 16758. The reference 116660 Deepsea replaced the reference 16600 in 2008. This Deepsea from circa 2011 sports a larger case and deeper depth rating than its predecessor. The Deepsea also features a ceramic bezel and the patented Ring Lock System, which allows the case to withstand extreme water pressure equivalent to three tons on the crystal. This type of technology allows this model to be waterproof down to 12,800 feet.
