Christie’s International Head of Retail for Watches, Reginald Brack, gives an in-depth look at a Rolex Day-Date, Ref. 1803 from circa 1966. The Rolex Day Date was launched in 1956 and it was available only in 18k gold or platinum. This was the first wristwatch to display date and day of the week spelled out in full in a window on the dial. The President bracelet was specifically made for this model.
