Ingredients:
400 gms Paneer (Indian Cottage Cheese) -Easily available in large chain grocery stores or Indian ethnic grocers
1 cup green peas
2-3 tbsp Oil
1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
1 cinnamon stick
1 green chilli (Deseeded if you want flavor only, skip it all together if you don't like hot spicy food)
1 large onion chopped
Salt per taste (1/2 tsp is good actually)
1/4 tsp Turmeric
2 small tomatoes
2 cloves of garlic
2 inch piece of ginger
(You can use ginger-garlic paste instead too)
1/2 tsp Garam masala
1/2 tsp dried fenugreek leaves (Kasoori methi)
Handful of Cilantro leaves
Method:
1. Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin, cinnamon and green chilli. Quickly stir.
2. Add onions and fry for 2 mins.
3. Add ginger-garlic, salt and turmeric.
4. Fry for 3-4 mins until raw flavour of ginger-garlic goes away and onions start changing color, start becoming golden brown.
5. Add tomatoes. Cook until mushy and tender. Add Green peas. Cook for 2-3 more mins.
6. Add Paneer. Mix well with masala and saute for 2 mins.
7. Add garam masala, Kasoori methi (dried fenugreek leaves) and cilantro leaves.
Serve hot with Roti (Chapati)
