प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने शनिवार को ओडिशा के बालासोर में ट्रेन दुर्घटना स्थल का दौरा किया और कहा कि जिम्मेदार लोगों को "कड़ी सजा दी जाएगी"। उन्होंने कहा कि सरकार हादसे में अपने परिजनों को खोने वालों के साथ खड़ी है। दो दशकों से अधिक समय में देश की सबसे घातक रेल दुर्घटना में कम से कम 288 लोग मारे गए और 800 घायल हो गए।
उन्होंने कहा, "यह एक दर्दनाक घटना है। सरकार घायलों के इलाज में कोई कसर नहीं छोड़ेगी। यह एक गंभीर घटना है, हर कोण से जांच के निर्देश जारी किए गए हैं। दोषी पाए जाने वालों को कड़ी सजा दी जाएगी।"

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday visited the train accident site in Odisha's Balasore and said those responsible "will be severely punished". The government is standing with those who lost their family members in the tragedy, he said. At least 288 people were killed and 800 injured in the country's deadliest rail accident in more than two decades.
"It's a painful incident. The government will leave no stone unturned for the treatment of those injured. It's a serious incident, instructions issued for probe from every angle. Those found guilty will be severely punished," he said.
