अधिकारियों ने शनिवार को बताया कि ओडिशा के बालासोर जिले में तीन ट्रेनों की टक्कर में कम से कम 288 लोगों की मौत हो गई और सैकड़ों लोग घायल हो गए। दुर्घटनास्थल पर भयानक दृश्य में पलटी हुई बोगियां और खून से सने मलबे के साथ टूटी हुई बोगियां देखी गईं। शालीमार-चेन्नई कोरोमंडल एक्सप्रेस, बेंगलुरु-हावड़ा सुपरफास्ट एक्सप्रेस और एक मालगाड़ी से जुड़ी घटना को दो दशकों में देश की सबसे घातक ट्रेन त्रासदियों में से एक माना जाता है।

At least 288 people were killed and several hundreds injured after a three-train collision in Odisha's Balasore district, officials said Saturday. Horrific scenes at the crash site saw overturned bogies and smashed coaches with bloodstained debris. The incident involving the Shalimar-Chennai Coromandel Express, Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express and a goods train, is considered as one of the deadliest train tragedies in the country in over two decades.
