प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी 28 मई को संसद के नए भवन का उद्घाटन करेंगे. अब तक 21 विपक्षी दलों ने कहा है कि वे इस उद्घाटन समारोह में शामिल नहीं होंगे. कांग्रेस, समाजवादी पार्टी जैसी पार्टियों ने समारोह का बहिष्कार करने का फैसला लिया. इस बीच, बहुजन समाज पार्टी ने भी अपना रुख साफ कर दिया है. बसपा प्रमुख मायावती ने कहा है कि जिसने बनाया है उसे उद्घाटन का हक है. और इसका समर्थन करते हुए ग़ुलाम नबी आज़ाद भी मैदान में उतरे और विपक्ष जम कर धोया.
