Dil Dhadakne Do Movie Review | Komal Nahta

Renowned Film Critic and Trade Analyst, Komal Nahta reviews this week's release, Dil Dhadakne Do. With an ensemble cast- Anil Kapoor, Shefali Shah, Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar and Anushka Sharma- the film is directed by Zoya Akhtar. Set on a cruise ship this comedy film revolves around Mehra family. Kamal Mehra and Neelam Mehra put up a show of being a perfect couple but in reality can't stand each other. Their daughter Ayesha is married to Manav but wants a divorce. Mehra's only heir, Kabir loves flying and this filthy rich family doesn't mind getting their only son a Jet plane! Mehras are living in genteel poverty, they have become bankrupt and the only way to survive the heat is to marry their son in a rich family. But Kabir has other plans that are likely to surprise his parents. The humor in the film is very class appealing and very city centric, also the masses will be quite taken with track of relationships shown in the film. The film does have its share of dull moments and long scenes in the first half of the film. The performances given by every actor is of high order. Talking about the direction of the film, Zoya Akhtar's direction is much matured and the story of the film very layered. To know more about the film, watch our review.
