Renowned Film Critic and Trade Analyst, Komal Nahta reviews 'Bangistan' and 'Jaanisaar,' this week. Revolving around two aspiring terrorist -Riteish Deshmukh and Pulkit Samrat- the film, 'Bangistan,' brings two characters of warring religions together. The film is flat satire and a frivolous drama which fails to entertain. 'Jaanisaar' starring Imran Abbas and Pernia Qureshi is Muzaffar Ali's comeback after a hiatus of three decades. The film is set in the pre-independence era, 1857, and is a love story. The story and screenplay of the film is confusing as all the characters are not fully established. The audience cannot connect to the love story as it lacks emotions.
