To prepare Kachi, the curd or yogurt(dahi) and gram flour (Besan) is turned into a liquid mixture by mixing with few cups of water. The chopped green chilies, chopped ginger is enough to flavor the kadhi but where I grew up, fresh turmeric(Haldi), mango ginger(Amba Haldi) & ginger(adrak) roots are added for more nutrition. Kadhi is served over khichdi, rice, with roti.
