Located 16 kms from Aurangabad and with a height of over 600 ft, Daulatabad Fort rises abruptly from the Deccan plains. Stands bounded within thick walls, which are almost five km long, and is entered through spiked gates. Its steep side ways and deep trench made it almost impenetrable.
