Why Do You Look Different From The Rest Of Us? Kids Show Episode 2

The Kids Show, hosted by Sikh Scholar Kiranpreet Kaur and Sikh Student Rajveer Singh is an attempt to educate young Sikhs about the Sikh religion. Young Sikhs face much adversity during their school days from questioning to bullying. It's important to work on prevention by educating our youngsters to articulate themselves correctly so that they can successfully challenge the questions that they face.

Today's question is something that every Sikh has been asked throughout their lives, and that is "why do you look different from the rest of us?". As Rajveer has stated in the program it's something he was asked in Year 5 back when he was 9 or 10. So it's important that we know how to answer this question.

Akaal Purakh made us a certain way for a reason. Changing your own body for your own selfishness is not something Sikhi supports, hence why cutting your hair is considered a Kurehat (cardinal sin). The best way to answer this is "We do not look different. We look natural, exactly how God intended us to be."
