What is Mool Mantar, and how important is it? Kids Show Episode 3

The Kids Show, hosted by Sikh Scholar Kiranpreet Kaur and Sikh Student Rajveer Singh is an attempt to educate young Sikhs about the Sikh religion. Young Sikhs face much adversity during their school days from questioning to bullying. It's important to work on prevention by educating our youngsters to articulate themselves correctly so that they can successfully challenge the questions that they face.

Mool Mantar is how Guru Granth Sahib Ji begins, starting from 'Ik Onkar' to 'Gurprasadh'. The reason is that 'Jap' is the name of the Bani. Ik Onkar should not be taken as simply as God is One. In essence, Ik Onkar means the eternal One creator who has manifested within everything and on the day of reckoning, everything will be absorbed back within them. Mool Mantar has been described by Bhai Vir Singh as the essence of Gurbani, with Jap Ji Sahib's Bani defining it, and the rest of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji's Bani defining Jap Ji Sahib.
