Though Sanjay Leela Bhansali has gone out of his way to keep details of his upcoming film Padmavati under wraps, Ranveer Singh, who will be seen playing ruthless Sultan Alauddin Khilji in the film, revealed a sneak peek and release date of the upcoming film.

Taking to his Twitter page, Singh unveiled a close up of his kohl-lined eyes and scarred forehead as Alauddin Khilji and also wrote, ''XVII. XI. XVII.'' What this actually means is 17-11.17, which we are sure is the release date of the film, which also stars Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor in pivotal roles. Needless to say, Ranveer looks deadly and menacing as hell in the sneak peek. As per history, Khilji had heard about Padmavati's beauty and had invaded Mewar in order to possess her, which forms the basic premise of Bhansali's film Padmavati.

Padmavati will be Ranveer and Deepika's third film together after Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani.
