Assam UCC News: असम सरकार ने मुस्लिम विवाह और तलाक अधिनियम -1935 खत्म कर दिया है. हिमंता कैबिनेट ने मुस्लिम विवाह, तलाक अधिनियम -1935 रद्द कर दिया है। यानी अब इस कानून से जुड़े सभी पहलू तत्काल खत्म हो गए हैं। असम में मुसलमानों को भी अब स्पेशल मैरिज एक्ट के तहत ही निकाह करना होगा। सरकार के इस कदम में मुसलमानों में बाल विवाह पर रोक लगाने में मदद मिलेगी। कई मुस्लिम परिवारों में बच्चियों की शादी कम उम्र में ही करा दी जाती थी मगर अब उन्हें स्पेशल मैरिज एक्ट के तहत उम्र का नियम मानना होगा। यानी 18 वर्ष की उम्र के बाद ही निकाह कराया जा सकेगा।

Assam UCC News: Assam government has abolished Muslim Marriage and Divorce Act-1935. Himanta Cabinet has repealed the Muslim Marriage, Divorce Act-1935. That means now all the aspects related to this law have ended immediately. Muslims in Assam will now have to marry under the Special Marriage Act only. This step of the government will help in stopping child marriage among Muslims. In many Muslim families, girls used to get married at an early age, but now they will have to follow the age rule under the Special Marriage Act. That means marriage can be done only after the age of 18 years.
