UCC पर उत्तराखंड का तैयार किया ड्राफ्ट सरकार के पास है, उम्मीद थी कि संसद के मॉनसून सत्र में इस पर चर्चा होगी. लेकिन फिलहाल इसकी उम्मीद कम दिख रही है. क्योंकि लॉ कमीशन ने UCC पर लोगों से जो राय मांगी थी...उसकी अंतिम तारीख बढ़ाकर 28 जुलाई कर दी गई है. अब तक साठ लाख ईमेल और चिट्ठियां मिल चुकी हैं...इनमें तमाम मुस्लिम धर्म गुरुओं और संस्थाओं से लेकर ओवैसी की पार्टी AIMIM ने भी अपनी राय भेजी. एक तरफ सरकार कह रही है जब हक समान... तो समान कानून से क्यों परेशान...वहीं दूसरी तरफ कई मुस्लिम धर्म गुरु, संस्था के नुमाइंदों से लेकर AIMIM के मुखिया बैरिस्टर असदुद्दीन ओवैसी तक कह रहे हैं कि UCC आएगा तो इस्लाम और मुसलमान दोनों खतरे में पड़ जाएंगे.

Uttarakhand's prepared draft on UCC is with the government, it was expected that it would be discussed in the monsoon session of Parliament. But at the moment its hope is looking less. Because the Law Commission had sought the opinion of the people on UCC…the last date has been extended to 28th July. Sixty lakh emails and letters have been received so far...
