कल ही प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने UCC पर बड़ा इशारा दिया था। कहा था कि एक घर में दो क़ानून भला क्यों होने चाहिये?...और आज ही देखिये, कि उत्तराखंड सरकार के UCC का ब्लूप्रिंट हमारे हाथ में है। ड्राफ्ट तो 30 जून को सौंपा जाना है।..लेकिन उसके मेन प्वाइंट्स मैं आपको बता रहा हूं।

जैसे शादी के लिये लड़कियों की उम्र बढ़ेगी। इतनी होगी कि वो ग्रेजुएट हो जाएं। शादियों का रजिस्ट्रेशन ज़रूरी होगा। लिव-इन में रहना है तो डिक्लरेशन देना होगा। जायदाद में बेटा-बेटी बराबरी के हिस्सेदार होंगे। बच्चे गोद लेना आसान होगा। मां-बाप में पटरी नहीं बैठी तो बच्चों की कस्टडी दादा-दादी नाना-नानी को दी जा सकती है। जैसे पत्नी सास-ससुर से निभाती है वैसे ही पति को भी अपने सास-ससुर से निभानी पड़ेगी।

उत्तराखंड सरकार की कमेटी ने 2 लाख 30 हज़ार सुझावों पर ये ड्राफ्ट बनाया है। पढ़ेंगे तो आप भी मानेंगे कि काफ़ी प्रोग्रेसिव एप्रोच है।
ड्राफ्ट के बाक़ी प्वाइंट्स भी देखिये..और सोचिये कि इनके विरोध के पीछे किस पुराने ज़माने की सोच है?.. ड्राफ्ट में एक से ज़्यादा शादियों और हलाला पर रोक लगाने की बात कही गई है। इद्दत यानी गुज़ारे भत्ते के शरिया क़ानून को बैन किया गया है।..और तलाक पर मिया-बीवी को बराबर के अधिकार दिये गये हैं। यानी पति की नहीं पत्नी की मर्ज़ी भी चलेगी।

The committee of Uttarakhand government has prepared this draft on the basis of 2 lakh 30 thousand suggestions. If you read, you will also agree that it is a very progressive approach.
See the rest of the points of the draft as well..and think what is the old-fashioned thinking behind their protest?..the draft talks about banning more than one marriage and halala. The Shariah law of Iddat i.e. alimony has been banned...and on divorce, Miya-Biwi have been given equal rights. That means, not the husband's will, but the wife's wish will also work.
