एआईएमआईएम अध्यक्ष असदुद्दीन ओवैसी को UGC को लेकर अपनी राजनीति तेज कर दी है. गुजरात सरकार द्वारा समान नागरिक संहिता (UCC) लागू करने के लिए एक समिति गठित करने के फैसले की AIMIM के अध्यक्ष असदुद्दीन ओवैसी ने कड़ी आलोचना की है. उन्होंने शनिवार को कहा कि बीजेपी गुजरात विधानसभा चुनाव में वोट हासिल करने और अपने हिंदुत्व के एजेंडे को आगे बढ़ाने के लिए समान नागरिक संहिता का मुद्दा उठा रही है.भले UGC का दांव बीजेपी ने खेला है, लेकिन बाकी पार्टियों को सियासत करने का पूरा मौका मिल गया है .कांग्रेस ने भी इसपर अपनी सियासत शुरू कर दी है

AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi has intensified his politics regarding UGC. Owaisi has strongly criticized the decision of the Gujarat government to set up a committee to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). He said on Saturday that the BJP is raising the issue of Uniform Civil Code to gain votes in the Gujarat Assembly elections and to further its Hindutva agenda.
