CBDT का दो साल पहले का आंकड़ा था कि महाराष्ट्र और दिल्ली मिलकर देश का आधी इनकम टैक्स भरते हैं। पर-कैपिटा इनकम में तो दिल्ली, मुंबई से भी आगे है। ..क्योंकि राजधानी भी है, इसलिये मेट्रो ट्रेन, एक्सप्रेसवे, चौड़े हाईवे, फ्लाईओवर, अंडरपास..किसी की कमी नहीं है। प्रधानमंत्री थोड़ी देर पहले पेरिस पहुंचे हैं।..दिल्ली को भी पेरिस जैसा बनाने के सपने बरसों से दिखाए जा रहे हैं। लेकिन तस्वीरें देखेंगे तो पेरिस नहीं, वेनिस ज़रूर दिखाई देगा। यमुना 45 साल बाद खतरे के निशान से 3 मीटर ऊपर बह रही है। किनारे की बस्तियां डूब चुकी हैं। लोग पहले ही पलायन कर चुके हैं। NDRF की नावें चल रही हैं। ...और ये किनारों का हाल नहीं है। पानी शहर के काफ़ी अंदर तक भी घुस चुका है। लालक़िले के पास कमर से ऊपर तक पानी है। जहां से दिल्ली की सरकार चलती है, यानी सचिवालय और सिविल लाइन एरिया जहां सीएम केजरीवाल खुद रहते हैं...वहां तक पानी पहुंच गया है। लोगों के घर और गाड़ियां...सब पानी में डूबे हुए हैं। कई अंडरपास पानी से भरे हुए हैं। जो इलाक़े डूबे हुए हैं वहां स्कूल अब सोमवार को ही खुलेंगे। कई दफ्तरों में छुट्टी हो गई है। कहा गया है कि वर्क फ्रॉम होम करें। मेट्रो ट्रेनों को भी कहा गया है कि थोड़ा धीमे चलाएं।

Many underpasses are filled with water. The schools in the areas which are submerged will now open on Monday only. There is a holiday in many offices. It has been said to do work from home. Metro trains have also been told to run a little slower.
