Sonam Kapoor’s First Red Carpet Appearance At Cannes 2018 Was Meh…

Sonam Kapoor, who is touted as India’s quintessential fashionista, disappointed us with her outfit of choice at the Cannes red carpet.

For her first red carpet appearance, Sonam wore a Ralph & Russo lehanga-gown and it left us very underwhelmed. She offered nothing new with the garment, more so as we recently saw her doing a white lehanga at her mehandi ceremony. Also we believe that if she had to wear something like this, she could have promoted an Indian designer. This look might have impressed the Westerners but for us it was very uninspiring.

Her hairstyle weighed down her look further and her Amrapali parandi, though beautiful on its own, looked too OTT with her exquisite dress. She adorned herself with jewels from Chopard.

The Ralph & Russo dress, no doubt, was stunning but we felt disappointed seeing it on Sonam. It feels as if the reception lehanga arrived too late, so Sonam decided to wear it for Cannes.
