रॉयटर्स ने गुरुवार को बताया कि रूस और भारत ने दोनों देशों के बीच व्यापार के लिए रुपये का उपयोग करने पर बातचीत को निलंबित कर दिया है, मास्को भारतीय मुद्रा को हाथ में रखने के लिए अनिच्छुक है।
वार्ता के रुकने से सस्ते रूसी तेल और कोयले के भारतीय आयातकों को झटका लगा है, जो एक स्थायी रुपया भुगतान तंत्र की प्रतीक्षा कर रहे थे जो मुद्रा रूपांतरण के लिए लागत कम करने में मदद करेगा। वहीं मॉस्को ने भारतीय रुपये में भारत-रूस व्यापार को निपटाने के निलंबन का दावा करने वाली मीडिया रिपोर्टों को खारिज कर दिया और इसे पश्चिमी समाचार एजेंसियों द्वारा इच्छाधारी सोच (Wishful Thinking) कहा है ।

Moscow is reluctant to keep the Indian currency on hand after Russia and India suspended talks on using the rupee for trade between the two countries, Reuters reported on Thursday.
The stalling of talks has dealt a blow to Indian importers of cheap Russian oil and coal, who had been waiting for a permanent rupee payment mechanism that would help bring down costs for currency conversion. Moscow rejected media reports claiming suspension of settling India-Russia trade in Indian rupees and termed it as wishful thinking by western news agencies.
