- 2 हजार का नोट 8 नवंबर 2016 में हुई नोटबंदी के बाद मार्केट में उतारे गए थे...8 नवंबर 2016 को पीएम मोदी के एक ऐलान के बाद 500 और 1,000 रुपये के नोट चलन से बाहर कर दिए गए थे...

- और RBI के अनुसार 500 और 1,000 के इन नोटों को बंद करने के बाद करंसी की जो कमी पैदा हुई थी, उसे तत्काल पूरा करने के लिए 2, 000 रुपये के नोटों को छापा गया था

- RBI के अनुसार 500, 100 और 200 के नोटों के पर्याप्त संख्या में सर्कुलेशन में आने के बाद 2,000 के नोटों को बंद कर दिया जाना था
