Ranbir Kapoor - Memorable Films

1) Saawariya (2007)
Ranbir Kapoor's debut film, which also marked the debut of Sonam Kapoor, was produced and directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and was apparently based on Fyodor Dostoevsky's short story "White Nights".

2) Wake Up Sid (2009)
In this coming of age comedy drama film, Ranbir essayed the character of a spoiled rich-kid Sid who is taught the value of owning up to responsibility by the character essayed by Konkona Sen Sharma.

3) Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani (2009)
In this romantic comedy, Ranbir was paired opposite Katrina Kaif. The film was a remake of the 2005 Telugu movie Soggadu and was directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. The film went on to become a big hit.

4) Rajneeti (2010)
Ranbir essayed the role of Samar Pratap and his role was loosely based on Arjuna - the main central character of the ancient Indian epic Mahabharata in this political thriller. Katrina Kaif, Ajay Devgn, Nana Patekar, Manoj Bajpayee and Arjun Rampal were his co-stars in the film.

5) Rockstar (2011)
In this musical romance, Ranbir played the role of Janardhan Jakhar a.k.a. JJ or Jordan, who dreams of becoming a rockstar like his role model, Jim Morrison. Yet, eventually on attaining all that he dreamt of, Jordan ends up anguished and despondent, by the loss of Heer Kaul, whom he loved passionately. The film had a memorable music score by A.R.Rahman.

6) Barfi! (2012)
Ranbir essayed the title character in the film, which depicts the story of Murphy "Barfi" Johnson (a mute and deaf Nepali boy from Darjeeling) and his relationships with two women, Shruti and Jhilmil, who is autistic. The film was selected as India's official entry for the Best Foreign Language Film nomination for the 85th Academy Awards. Ranbir received the Filmfare Award for Best Actor for his performance in the film.

7) Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013)
In this breezy, romantic musical, Ranbir essayed the role of a charmer "Bunny" Thapar whose dream is to wander and discover the world. His character doesn't take love seriously until he falls for the character of Naina played by Deepika Padukone. The film was a smash hit.
