Pavaṇ gurū pāṇī piṯā māṯā ḏẖaraṯ mahaṯ.

Ḏivas rāṯ ḏue ḏāi ḏāiā kẖelai sagal jagaṯ.

Cẖangāīā buriāīā vācẖai ḏẖaram haḏūr.

Karmī āpo āpṇī ke neṛai ke ḏūr.

Jinī nām ḏẖiāiā ga▫e maskaṯ gẖāl.

Nānak ṯe mukẖ ujle keṯī cẖẖutī nāl.

UNDERSTANDING THE MANTRA

Pavan guru paani pitaa, maataa dharat mahat.” this Salok at the end of Japji is a song sung in the praise of all creation. “Air the guru; Water, the father; and Earth, the great mother.” Air is the teacher, who shows the path from darkness to light, reminds us to reconnect with our breath which links us to the present moment. Our thoughts wander between past and present; By shifting our awareness to the breath, we become present in the present moment. All consciousness lies in the present moment. Actually,there is nowhere to go & there is no need to go anywhere,for everything is only in the present.When the need to go anywhere stops, your sadhana is successful-You are blessed-this is the Ultimate Bliss-the Unlimited Joy (Anand) _the Ultimate Freedom/Liberation_ experience is indescribable. Then you just sit at ease. Sitting does not mean you are physically sitting in one place. It is just that the restlessness to go into this and that is gone,that intolerable pining is pacified.Search is over;you have found ‘You’,you have found Life;there is no confusion;there is clarity because now you are aware,focused & united with your Essence.Now, if you sit, you are fine, if you run, you are fine, if you fly, you are fine, if you walk also you are fine. Wherever you are, you are just fine- you are at ease. Once you are at ease, you don’t have to wander here & there.

Now, how much time you are going to take to be at ease or be liberated depends on the type of karmic substance you carry & how much committed you are to start this journey & then be in the journey;because this is all a continuous journey,not a one-time visit or destination.

The second thought in this salok is about respecting Nature_(the water is our father and the earth is our mother).By respecting nature, we respect our creator and ourselves as the creator and the creation are one_the thought which runs as a thread throughout all these mantras & this is the Essence of the Essence. When you are aware & you vibrate the sound current of naam within you always, you’ll be full of radiance, joy, blissfulness and you will raise the vibration of the whole planet for having been here.

It does not matter whether you are able to chant or not;what matters is to feel the vibrations within & focus attention on the positive thought while understanding the meaning (Imp-you can develop your own meaning too because no meaning is wrong ;it is as you understand it, take it & as it helps you).
