सुपरफास्ट ट्रेन कोरोमंडल एक्सप्रेस तमिलनाडु के चेन्नई से पश्चिम बंगाल के शालीमार स्टेशन की ओर जा रही थी. टक्कर इतनी जोरदार थी कि कोरोमंडल एक्सप्रेस पटरी से उतर गई. ट्रेन के कई डिब्बे मालगाड़ी पर चढ़ गए.बालासोर में घटनास्थल का दौरा करने के बाद पीएम मोदी ने भरोसा दिलाया. उन्होंने कहा कि किसी भी दोषी को बख्शा नहीं जाएगा. पूरी घटना की हाईलेवल जांच होगी.
