NDA की ओर से बीजेपी सांसद ओम बिरला और विपक्षी गठबंधन इंडिया की ओर से कांग्रेस के कोडिकुन्नील सुरेश मैदान में हैं. अध्यक्ष पद के चुनाव को लेकर पार्टियों ने भी कमर कस ली है. इसी कड़ी में कांग्रेस और बीजेपी ने अपने-अपने सांसदों को तीन लाइन का व्हिप जारी कर सदन में मौजूद रहने को कहा है. उधर YSR Congress ने NDA का सपोर्ट करने ऐलान कर दिया है.
