Independence Day 1962 Special: ये वो साल था जब चीन ने भारत के साथ सबसे बड़ा विश्वासघात किया.. चीन ने धोखा देते हुए, बड़े कायराना अंदाज़ में हमारे देश पर हमला कर दिया. चीनी सेना ने 20 अक्टूबर 1962 को लद्दाख में और मैकमोहन रेखा के पार एक साथ हमले शुरू कर दिये. उस वक्त भारतीय सेना इस युद्ध के लिए तैयार नहीं थी. फिर भी चीन के 80 हज़ार सैनिकों के सामने भारत के 10-20 हज़ार जवान डट कर सामना करते रहे. ये युद्ध 1 महीने चला, और आखिरकार 21 नवंबर 1962 को चीन ने युद्ध विराम की घोषणा की.इस साल चीन ने भले ही भारत के साथ धोखा किया, लेकिन स्पेस की दुनिया में 1962 एक बड़ा साल था.. इसी साल मशहूर वैज्ञानिक विक्रम साराभाई की अगुवाई में इंडियन नेशनल कमिटी फॉर स्पेस रिसर्च की शुरुआत हुई. जिसके बाद दुनियाभर में स्पेस रिसर्च में भारत की गूंज सुनाई दी.
