Independence Day 2001 Special: जब भारत में पोलियो के खिलाफ किया गया सबसे बड़ा टीकाकरण | Hindi

2001, भारत ने इस साल ऐतिहासिक सफलता पाई. जहां अब तक की सबसे बड़ी टीकाकरण परियोजनाओं में से एक में भारत भर में 150 मिलियन बच्चों को पोलियो के खिलाफ प्रतिरक्षित किया गया. बता दें कि भारत ने विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन वैश्विक पोलियो उन्‍मूलन प्रयास के परिणामस्‍वरूप 1995 में पल्‍स पोलियो टीकाकरण कार्यक्रम आरंभ किया, इस कार्यक्रम के तहत 5 वर्ष से कम आयु के सभी बच्‍चों को पोलियो समाप्‍त होने तक हर वर्ष दिसम्‍बर और जनवरी माह में ओरल पोलियो टीके की दो खुराकें दी गई. ये अभियान सफल सिद्ध हुआ और भारत में पोलियोमाइलिटिस की दर में काफी कमी आई.

India achieved historic success this year. Where 150 million children across India were immunized against polio in one of the largest vaccination projects ever. Let us tell you that India started the Pulse Polio Vaccination Program in 1995 as a result of World Health Organization global polio eradication effort, under this program all children below 5 years of age are given oral polio vaccine every year in the month of December and January till the end of polio. Two doses were given. This campaign proved successful and the rate of poliomyelitis in India came down significantly.
