Marriage is an occasion for song, dance and general merry making all around. This song is no different as an inebriated Dharma breaks into a song and dance to celebrate the marriage of his son Shankar with Rajni. His wife Savitri and younger son also join the singing even as Savitri reminisces her own newly married days.
Boxer is about Dharma (Danny Denzongpa) who works as a boxer. Circumstances force Dharma to take to drinking and ignore his pregnant wife, Savitri (Tanuja) and son Shankar (Mithun Chakraborty). In order to make ends meet, Shankar resorts to stealing and is arrested and sentenced to jail, where he meets a boxing manager Tony Braganza (Parikshit Sahni). After his release he starts to train with him and eventually challenges the reigningchampion Raghu Raj (Sharat Saxena). Rati Agnihotri (Rajni) plays Shankar's love interest in the film.
