पाकिस्तान में कंगाली से बचने के लिए व्यापक कटौती की घोषणा की गई है। सरकार ने इन कटौतियों के जरिए सालाना 200 अरब रुपये बचाने का प्लान बनाया है। इसकी मार सबसे ज्यादा पाकिस्तान के कैबिनेट मंत्री और सरकारी सुविधाओं का लाभ उठा रहे राजनेताओं पर पड़ी है। पाकिस्तानी प्रधानमंत्री शहबाज शरीफ ने घोषणा की कि सरकार के मितव्ययिता उपायों के तहत संघीय मंत्रियों, सलाहकारों और सहायकों को वेतन और अन्य लाभ नहीं मिलेंगे। इस्लामाबाद में संघीय कैबिनेट की बैठक के बाद प्रेस से बात करते हुए शहबाज शरीफ ने कहा कि सभी संघीय मंत्रियों को अब अपने स्वयं के बिजली, गैस और पानी के बिलों का भुगतान करना होगा।
