Deshhit: उत्तराखंड के बाद बीजेपी शासित असम ने UCC की तरफ कदम बढ़ाया है. असम की हेमंता सरकार ने 89 साल पुराने मुस्लिम मैरिज एंड डिवोर्स एक्ट रद्द कर दिया. उसकी जगह अब स्पेशल मैरिज एक्ट के तहत ही मुस्लिमों की शादी का रजिस्ट्रेशन और तलाक के मामले का निपटारा होगा. इससे बाल विवाह जैसी कुप्रथा पर रोक लगेगी. लेकिन All India United Democratic Front, यानि AIUDF इस फैसले का विरोध कर रही है. तो समाजवादी पार्टी भी AIUDF के सुर से सुर मिला रही है.

Deshhit: After Uttarakhand, BJP ruled Assam has taken a step towards UCC. Hemanta government of Assam canceled the 89 year old Muslim Marriage and Divorce Act. In its place, marriage registration and divorce cases of Muslims will now be settled under the Special Marriage Act. This will stop evil practices like child marriage. But All India United Democratic Front, i.e. AIUDF is opposing this decision. So Samajwadi Party is also matching the tune of AIUDF.
