Taal Thok Ke: क्या अब असम में यूसीसी लागू होने का समय आ गया है. ये सवाल असम सरकार के एक फैसले के बाद उठ रहे हैं. जिसमें असम सरकार ने 89 साल पुराने मुस्लिम विवाह और तलाक़ अधिनियम को ख़त्म कर दिया है. इस बात की जानकारी सोशल मीडिया साइट X पर खुद असम के मुख्यमंत्री हिमंता बिस्वा सरमा ने दी. उसमें लिखा असम में बाल विवाह रोकने की दिशा में एक और अहम कदम. इससे पहले असम में मुस्लिमों की शादी विवाह और तलाक, मैरिज एंड डिवोर्स रजिस्ट्रेशन एक्ट 1935 के तहत होते थे. उस नियम के मुताबिक कम उम्र में भी निकाह वैध था और उसका रजिस्ट्रेशन हो सकता था.
