शाहजहां शेख पर गरमाती सियासत के बीच TMC ने उसको 6 साल के लिए पार्टी से निलंबित कर दिया। साथ ही बीजेपी की ओर से लगाए जा रहे आरोपों को भी नकार दिया। और इस बात का दावा भी किया कि बंगाल पुलिस ने कानूनी प्रक्रिया के तहत ही काम किया। TMC नेता डेरेक ओ ब्रायन ने शेख शाहजहां के निलंबन की जानकारी एक प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस के ज़रिए दी।

Amidst the heated politics over Shahjahan Sheikh, TMC suspended him from the party for 6 years. He also rejected the allegations being made by BJP. And also claimed that the Bengal Police worked only as per the legal process. TMC leader Derek O'Brien informed about Sheikh Shahjahan's suspension through a press conference.
