Gayathri is starting for office when she has a cheap display of funding the needs of the household. She leaves no stone unturned to hurt Prakash. She ropes in Sathya also into the conversation predicting that Dharani (about to be married to Prakash) shall have a miserable life together. Now that Prakash has been suspended from the job, Gayathri announces he is no more a 'Government' officer, but a 'Vetti' officer. She rubs in hard that the household shall still need her alms from her income to sustain as Prakash has lost his bet of bringing it out of her clutches. To add insult to injury, Gayathri even offers some money to Prakash to keep for his daily expenses. However, Prakash refuses it with self respect, declaring that he shall soon be reinstated in his job after the suspension is revoked and shall succeed in the challenge.
