प्रयागराज की विशेष एमपी-एमएलए कोर्ट ने माफिया अतीक और उसके दो साथियों को उमेश पाल अपहरण केस में उम्रकैद की सज़ा सुनाई है, जबकि उसके भाई अशरफ को बरी कर दिया है. अतीक के आपराधिक करियर में 44 साल बाद उसे पहली बार किसी केस में सज़ा मिली है. जिस वक्त अतीक को कोर्ट में सज़ा सुनाई गई वो जज के सामने ही फूट-फूटकर रोने लगा. जबकि अदालत में पहुंचने के दौरान भी जब दोनों भाई अतीक और अशरफ एक दूसरे से मिले तो आपस में मिलकर खूब रोये...दरअसल उमेश पाल वही शख्स थे, जिनकी इसी साल 24 फरवरी 2023 को ही हत्या कर दी गई थी.
