During the premier of Saving Mr. Banks, Emma Thompson talks about the film's connection with the Original Mary Poppins movie and wishes the audience will be moved by the story!
When Walt Disney's daughters begged him to make a movie of their favorite book - Mary Poppins, he made them a promise that would take 20 years to realize!
The film depicts the author's (P. L. Travers) briefing in 1961 Los Angeles as she is persuaded by Walt Disney, in his attempts to obtain the screen rights to adapt her novels.
The film takes it's title from the character of the father in Mary Poppins!

Saving Mr. Banks is a comedy-drama film releasing on February 7th, 2014!
