Emma Thompson talks about the story, the character of P. L. Travers, the Sherman brothers, Tom Hanks and the making of Saving Mr. Banks.
When Walt Disney's daughters begged him to make a movie of their favorite book - Mary Poppins, he made them a promise that would take 20 years to realize!
The film depicts the author's (P. L. Travers) briefing in 1961 Los Angeles as she is persuaded by Walt Disney, in his attempts to obtain the screen rights to adapt her novels.
The film takes it's title from the character of the father in Mary Poppins!

Saving Mr. Banks is a comedy-drama film releasing on February 7th, 2014!
