Bad news for Indians : According to the latest SBI reports, the current currency exchange rate of $1 = ₹84.45 is soon expected to hit $1 = ₹90. This is due to the anticipated depreciation of the rupee once Trump wins the elections. This reflects the state of our country in the 21st century.
Today, America arrogantly claims that if they even sneeze, the entire world catches a cold. And here we are, watching our rupee lose its value like a house of cards with just a change in the U.S. President. The Indian Rupee has effectively become a slave to the American Dollar.
But for nearly 1600 years, India was among the richest nations. Even at independence, 1 USD = 1 INR. How did we devalue our currency so much in just 77 years that now 1 USD = 84 INR?
In the 1900s, the UK had the largest gold reserves, and the British Pound was the world’s strongest currency. So, how did the US Dollar become the global currency, and why do countries prioritize Dollar reserves? Lastly, if Trump wins the elections, what could happen that might further devalue our currency to 1 USD = 90 INR?
