पंजाब की 5 बड़ी नदियों में से एक रावी का जल अब पूरी तरह से भारत में ही इस्तेमाल हो सकेगा। अब भारत ने पठानकोट जिले में रावी नदी पर शाहपुर कंडी बैराज डैम बनाकर उसके पानी को संचित करना शुरू कर दिया है। इसके साथ ही रावी का पानी अब भारत के पंजाब एवं जम्मू-कश्मीर राज्यों के ही काम आएगा और इसका पाकिस्तान की ओर फ्लो खत्म होगा।
The water of Ravi, one of the five major rivers of Punjab, can now be used entirely in India. Now India has started storing the water of Ravi river by building Shahpur Kandi Barrage Dam in Pathankot district. With this, Ravi water will now be useful only for the Indian states of Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir and its flow towards Pakistan will end.
