Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Bengaluru today morning to congratulate Team ISRO on the successful Chandrayaan-3 mission to the Moon. He is slated to spend an hour at the ISRO Telemetry Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC) and greet scientists of the national space agency headquartered in Bengaluru.
On Wednesday evening as the Lander Module of Chandrayaan-3 mission successfully touched down on the lunar surface, PM Modi had joined the ISRO team at Mission Operations Complex (MOX) at ISTRAC virtually from Johannesburg, where he was attending the 15th BRICS summit.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay an early morning visit to the Indian Space Research Organization’s Telemetry, Tracking and Command Centre in the Peenya industrial area of Bengaluru on Saturday to congratulate ISRO scientists on the successful descent of the lander of the Chandrayaan-3 on the surface of the Moon on August 23. The Bengaluru traffic police have imposed restrictions in north Bengaluru on roads leading to the ISRO facility and in east and central parts of the city on roads leading from the HAL airport to north Bengaluru from 6.30 am to 9.30 am.
Police officials said the PM is expected to reach ISTRAC by 7.30 am to interact with scientists and get first hand views on the mission – including images that have been transmitted from the lander and possible visuals of the ISRO rover’s movement on the surface of the moon.
“All planned Rover movements have been verified. The Rover has successfully traversed a distance of about 8 meters. Rover payloads LIBS and APXS are turned ON. All payloads on the propulsion module, lander module, and rover are performing nominally,” ISRO in an update on Friday said.
