ओडिशा के बालासोर में शुक्रवार शाम एक यात्री ट्रेन के दूसरी ट्रेन के पटरी से उतरे डिब्बों से टकरा जाने से 200 से अधिक लोगों की मौत हो गई और 900 लोग घायल हो गए। दुर्घटना, हाल के दिनों में भारत में सबसे घातक में से एक, बेंगलुरु-हावड़ा सुपरफास्ट एक्सप्रेस, शालीमार-चेन्नई सेंट्रल कोरोमंडल एक्सप्रेस और एक मालगाड़ी शामिल थी। मुख्यमंत्री नवीन पटनायक ने भीषण ट्रेन हादसे के मद्देनजर एक दिन के राजकीय शोक की घोषणा की है.

More than 200 people were killed and 900 were injured when a passenger train hit the derailed coaches of another train in Odisha's Balasore Friday evening. The crash, one of the deadliest in India in recent times, involved the Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express, the Shalimar-Chennai Central Coromandel Express, and a goods train. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has declared one-day state mourning in view of the horrific train crash.
