The word 'miff' basically means to annoy someone or to get annoyed by someone or something.

Sometimes, people may make a remark at you, it doesn't go down too well with you, leaving you feeling quite offended. So, the person has miffed you with whatever he said.

When someone does something mean that makes you feel very bad, you are put off by the entire episode. That's because you are miffed.

For example, if your colleague at work, keeps taunting you or picks on you for every little thing, you feel put off by his behavior. It means you are miffed.
