केंद्रीय वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण ने कहा, "देश को हमारे युवाओं पर गर्व है जो खेलों में नई ऊंचाइयों को छू रहे हैं. 2023 में एशियाई खेलों और एशियाई पैरा खेलों में अब तक की सबसे अधिक पदक तालिका उच्च आत्मविश्वास स्तर को दर्शाती है. शतरंज प्रतिभा और हमारा नंबर 1 खिलाड़ी प्रगनानंद ने 2023 में मौजूदा विश्व चैंपियन मैग्नस कार्लसन को कड़ी टक्कर दी. आज, भारत में 80 से अधिक शतरंज ग्रैंडमास्टर हैं, जबकि 2010 में यह संख्या 20 से कुछ अधिक थी.''

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said, "The country is proud of our youth who are scaling new heights in sports. The highest ever medal tally in the Asian Games and Asian Para Games in 2023 shows high confidence level. Chess Pratibha and our No. 1 player Praggnananda give a tough fight to the reigning World Champion Magnus Carlsen in 2023. Today, there are more than 80 chess grandmasters in India, whereas in 2010 this number was a little more than 20.
