कांग्रेस के पूर्व नेता आचार्य प्रमोद कृष्णम ने महाकुंभ पर निशाना साधने वालों पर पलटवार करते हुए कहा कि हजारों साल से भारत में कुंभ लगता है, लेकिन आज तक इतनी संख्या में लोग महाकुंभ नहीं पहुंचे। कुंभ हिंदुओं के लिए है, अब कुछ ऐसे लोग भी जो सनातन विरोधी है तो सनातन विरोधियों को कुंभ में नहीं आना चाहिए। कुछ राजनीतिक लोग भारत को तालिबान बनाना चाहते हैं। समाजवादी पार्टी को सनातन का विरोध करने के लिए स्वर्ण पदक मिलना चाहिए।
