Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav has stirred a major political controversy by glorifying Muhammad Ali Jinnah at a party rally in Hardoi.
"Sardar Patel, Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Jinnah, they all came out of the same institution. They all studied at the same institute, they became barristers and gave freedom," the SP leader had said at the rally on Sunday. Political leaders including Keshav Prasad Maurya have hit out at the SP leader's comment.

समाजवादी पार्टी (सपा) के अध्यक्ष अखिलेश यादव ने हरदोई में पार्टी की एक रैली में मुहम्मद अली जिन्ना का महिमामंडन कर एक बड़ा राजनीतिक विवाद खड़ा कर दिया है.
सपा नेता ने रविवार को रैली में कहा था, "सरदार पटेल, महात्मा गांधी, जवाहरलाल नेहरू, जिन्ना, वे सभी एक ही संस्थान से निकले थे। वे सभी एक ही संस्थान में पढ़ते थे, बैरिस्टर बने और आजादी दी." केशव प्रसाद मौर्य समेत राजनीतिक नेताओं ने सपा नेता की टिप्पणी पर निशाना साधा है.
