उत्तर प्रदेश में कई प्रमुख और ऐतिहासिक शहरों के नाम बदले जा चुके है. ऐसे में अब प्रतापगढ़ से बीजेपी सांसद संगम लाल गुप्ता ने सूबे की राजधानी लखनऊ का नाम बदलने के वकालत कर डाली है. उन्होंने केंद्र और यूपी सरकार को खत लिखकर कहा कि श्रीराम ने लखनऊ का राज्य लक्ष्मण को सौंपा था, इसलिए इसका नाम लक्ष्मण के ही नाम पर होना चाहिए. तो वहीं स्वामी प्रसाद मौर्य ने इस मुद्दे पर प्रतिक्रिया देते बीजेपी पर चुनाव हथकंडे अपनाने का आरोप लगा दिया है.
