जमीयत उलेमा-ए-हिंद के अध्यक्ष मौलाना अर्शद मदनी ने मदरसों को किसी तरह की सरकारी मदद देने का विरोध किया है। मदनी का कहना है कि मदरसे चलाना मज़हबी काम है, इसमें किसी मदद की ज़रूरत नहीं है। हांलाकि यूपी में मदरसों को सरकारी मदद देने का कोई प्रस्ताव नहीं है। लेकिन मदनी ने अंदेशा जताया कि मदद के बहाने मदरसों के काम में दखलंदाज़ी होगी, सरकार का कंट्रोल बढ़ेगा तो ना मदरसे ठीक से चल पाएंगे ना वो स्कूल बन पाएंगे। इस तरह की मदद एक तरह से गुलामी के लिये मजबूर करेगी, जो मंज़ूर नहीं है। मदनी के मुताबिक- मदरसे दीनी तालीम के लिये हैं। ऐसे में मदद के बहाने सरकार का कोई भी ऐसा दखल उनके मक़सद को चौपट करेगा। मदनी ने ये भी कहा कि कुरान और लैपटॉप एक साथ नहीं चल सकते। यूपी में मदरसों के सर्वे पर मौलाना अर्शद मदनी का ये तीसरा बड़ा बयान है। पहले बयान में उन्होंने सर्वे का विरोध किया था। दूसरे बयान में उन्होंने सर्वे को सही बताते हुए कहा था कि जब मदरसों में ग़लत काम होता ही नहीं तो सर्वे से क्यों डरना?

Maulana Arshad Madani, president of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, has opposed any kind of government aid to madrassas. Madani says that running a madrasa is a religious work, no help is needed in this. However, there is no proposal to provide government help to madrassas in UP. But Madani expressed the apprehension that there would be interference in the work of madrasas on the pretext of help, if the control of the government increases, neither madrasas will be able to run properly nor they will be able to become schools. Such help will force slavery in a way, which is not acceptable. According to Madani - Madrasas are for Dini education. In such a situation, any such intervention of the government on the pretext of help will defeat their purpose. Madani also said that Quran and laptop cannot run together. This is the third big statement of Maulana Arshad Madani on the survey of madrasas in UP. In the first statement, he opposed the survey. In the second statement, he had justified the survey and said that when there is no wrong work in madrassas, then why be afraid of the survey?
