Kabir Singh Movie Interesting & Unknown Facts | Shahid Kapoor, Kiara Advani

1. The film is a remake of 2017 Telugu blockbuster, Arjun Reddy, which starred Vijay Deverakonda in the lead role.

2. Kabir Singh is being directed by Sandeep Vanga, who had also written and directed the original.

3. Shahid Kapoor will sport three different looks in the film. For one of his looks he will be seen sporting unkempt hair and he will be seen with a beard in another one. He has also gone clean shaven for the movie.

4. Shahid is essaying the role of an orthopaedic surgeon in the film and this is the first time he will be seen playing a medical student.

5. The film is partially inspired by director Sandeep Vanga’s experiences as a physiotherapy student. He took two years to write the script, however, no producer wanted to finance it. The film materialised after four-five years after Vanga’s brother and father decided to bankroll it.

6. Arjun Reddy is also being remade in Tamil under the title Adithya Varma.

7. Shahid’s character Kabir suffers from serious anger management issues and he goes on a path of self-destruction after his girlfriend marries someone else.

8. The producers wanted Arjun Kapoor to play the male lead however, Vanga already had Shahid in his mind and the rest as we know is history.

9. The original received an A certificate from the Censor Board and drew criticism for allegedly promoting substance abuse among young people and for its romantic scenes and we hear that the Hindi version will be even more violent and raw.

10. Tara Sutaria was earlier supposed to play the lead role in the movie however, she had to opt out as her debut film, Student of The Year 2 got postponed. Later, Kiara Advani was roped in.

11. The makers wanted to take the film on floors in August 2018 however, they had to push the shoot by three months as Shahid wanted to grow a real beard for his film.
