007’s Aston Martin DB10 is the top lot in the first part of Christie’s charity auction of memorabilia from James Bond Spectre, with 100% of lots sold.
The auction offered Bond fans and collectors the unique opportunity to acquire a piece of Spectre memorabilia direct from the archives of EON Productions, with additional donations from Bond cast members, Director Sam Mendes and Bond Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli. Auctioneer Hugh Edmeades was assisted by special guest David Walliams — the writer, comedian and actor, who encouraged ‘big bids’ from the saleroom.
Proceeds from the sale will benefit Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), other charitable organisations and the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS), with Christie’s donating all profitable proceeds to the charities. Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli commented: “We are truly delighted that the money raised from tonight’s auction at Christie’s of Spectre memorabilia will help vital medical projects run by MSF in South Sudan, Syria and Yemen. We thank Aston Martin for donating the DB10 and urge anyone who has missed out tonight to bid in the online charity auction which closes on Tuesday.”
